Twine Terms of Service

Last updated: March 26, 2026

Who this is for

Twine is for adults aged 18 and over. By using Twine you confirm you are 18 or older.

What Twine is and isn't

Twine is a wellness tool to support communication within a relationship. It is not therapy, mental health support, or medical care. It does not give advice on what to do in your relationship. Any decisions you make and any words you send or say to another person are entirely your own responsibility.

How you may use Twine

Twine is for personal, non-commercial use. You must not use it in any way that is abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, or illegal.

Twine is designed to support communication between people who want to be in contact with each other. If the person you are reflecting on is someone you don't want to contact, don't feel safe contacting, or have been asked not to contact, please do not use Twine in relation to them.

Content that is terrorist in nature, constitutes child sexual exploitation or abuse, or threatens violence against a named individual will be reported to the relevant authorities.

Session limits

Twine includes built-in session limits for your wellbeing. After 60 minutes you will receive a reminder to take a break. After 90 minutes your session will pause for 4 hours. This is a deliberate design choice, not a technical error.

AI and accuracy

Twine's responses are generated by AI, not a human. AI may make mistakes or not fully capture your situation. Do not rely on Twine's reflections as a substitute for professional advice or support.

Drafting messages

Twine can help you draft messages to send via your own messaging apps. You are solely responsible for any message you choose to send to another person.

How your data is stored

By default, your conversation content is stored on your device only. You can choose to store your conversation summaries on Twine's secure servers, which allows your history to carry across sessions and devices. This is opt-in and can be changed in your settings at any time.

Regardless of your storage preference, messages that trigger our safety systems are processed on our secure servers. This is necessary to meet our legal obligations and is described in our Privacy Policy.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@twine.app.

Changes to the service

We may update or withdraw features of Twine at any time. We will notify you of significant changes.

Limitation of liability

Twine is provided as a wellness tool on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using the app. To the extent permitted by law, Twine is not liable for any decisions you make or actions you take based on your use of the app.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Twine if these Terms are breached. Grounds for suspension include but are not limited to sending content that is abusive, threatening, illegal, or that triggers our statutory reporting obligations.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
